Why should you pay attention to our festival? Besides gathering short films from around the world, the festival is also connected with the rich history of cinema in the city of Leeds. It was here, thanks to the ingenuity of Louis Le Prince, that the first short films were shot, laying the foundation for a new era in global cinema.

Leeds is steeped in love for cinema and cultural traditions, which we strive to preserve and develop. We believe that your films are a source of unique ideas, emotions, inspiration, and stories. And we would like to share this with our audience. Join us at the Leeds Shorts International Film Festival, where your talent will be noticed, recognized, and appreciated.
